TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—Tuesday is Primary Day in New York State, at least for some races, including Governor, Lieutenant Governor and one local contest that has heated up recently.

While other state-level offices have had their primaries delayed until August, voters in the two major parties will be able to choose their candidate for the general election in August for Governor and Lt. Gov., while the Common Council Ward 4 (Collegetown) Democratic campaign between incumbent Patrick Mehler and challenger Tiffany Chen Kumar could see an end Tuesday.

Democratic governor candidates are incumbent Kathy Hochul, Jumaane Williams and Tom Suozzi, while Republican candidates are Lee Zeldin, Rob Astorino, Andrew Giuliani and Harry Wilson. In the lieutenant governor race, candidates are Antonio Delgado, Ana Maria Archila and Diana Reyna as Democrats; Allison Esposito is the lone Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, thus there is no primary being held.

Primaries are closed in New York, meaning only registered members of those parties can vote in their respective primaries.

Those who are registered voters can look up their polling location using this application from the Tompkins County Board of Elections (or here in a less interactive way). Polls are open until 9 p.m.

The League of Women Voters also provides a comprehensive page of local voting information.
